Wow! I woke up to a chilly 12 degrees this morning and had to go to work. Brrrrr!!! No snow though so that is a big bummer.

This month I have been watching all the different Christmas movies on Lifetime and ABC Family. So far my favorite one has been "12 Men for Christmas". If you haven't seen it I do recommend it. So todays question is what is your get you in the mood for the holidays Christmas movie? I really love the black and white versions of "Miracle on 34th Street" and "White Christmas".

It's Day 8.....

As promised I have been working on several different sets of these altered binder clips this week. They are easy to make and look really cute. Great for holding photos, using as placecard holders, recipe card holders, or even just holding important papers. The possibilities are endless. They will be going along with the range of office/home products I will soon be offering in my shop. So stay tuned. The rain hasn't let up yet so just 1 snap shot at the moment.

We put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving, but still haven't had any time to put the decorations on it. We will be putting up the decorations today after our errands. With that being said we go all out on the decorating of the tree. I LOVE lots of color. We have tons of color on our tree every year and I love the blinking lights too. When I was younger (okay even now) I would lay under the tree and just watch all the lights blink. It has been passed down to my kids because they love to do it also. Really need to get a good picture of that this year. So my question to you today is do you like the single color or multi color lights?

For todays chance I would love to hear what was the best gift that you have ever received for Christmas? It could be anything from when you were a child to now.

Mine was from my husband. It may sound corny, but when I was growing up my favorite toy was my Strawberry Shortcake Doll. Well when I moved to Arkansas from California my doll got left behind. So he got me this Strawberry Shortcake Doll for Christmas a couple years ago. I absolutely love it because it came from the heart and he knew the sentimental value I had on my "original" doll.

On the First Day of Christmas..................

'Tis the Season

Less than a month 'til Christmas and I have been busy decorating the house. Our town Christmas parade is this weekend and I can't wait to see all the pretty floats and bright lights. We usually have open town as well and this year I am setting up a small booth at one of the businesses here with some of my Etsy items. Got to get crackin' as I am running out of time.

Here is a Christmas card I wanted to share with you. I just love all the layers and texture to this card. The wreath frames the stamped sentiment and the shiny ribbon is the final touch to bring it all together.

Fabulous Fall

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We went to my parents house and ate some yummy turkey. Of course Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete without some football namely the Cowboys. The kids went on a little hayride at the Christmas tree farm with my dad and they were able to play with some lambs and little pigs.

I have been working on this cute fall mini album that I thought I would share with you. It is a 4x4 mini chipboard album, which is perfect to put in your purse and take with you. Vibrant fall colors and all of the embellishments really make this album a beautiful way to showcase your fall photos.

There are a total of 10 pages including the front and back covers. Used Daisy D's papers and lots of different embellishments. I truly love the colors used in this album.

Virtual Scrapbooking

First I wanted to apologize for not having the snowflake embellie ideas up like I had promised. For some reason my post didn't publish or save, but I am working on redoing it and having it up in the next few days.

Now I wanted to share a layout I did for the Virtual Scrapbooking Weekend over at SplitCoast Stampers this past weekend. The theme for the weekend was "Through the Decades", and my layout was for the "Rock and Roll" challenge. You couldn't spend more than 2 hours on 1 layout and I barely made it. It took me 5 minutes shy of 2 hours. Using a sketch by Julie Boner I made a layout of our family cat, Mogley, that passed away in September.

The 2 techniques I chose for this challenge were the "rock and roll" and the "grid" techniques. You can find step by step instructions for both of these techniques over at SplitCoast Stampers.

To achieve the "Rock and Roll" technique choose 2 coordinating ink colors and cover your stamp with the lightest first. Then lay your darker color down and rock the edges of your stamp over it. This gives you a 2-toned stamped image. The second technique is called the "Grid" technique. You just score your paper at equal intervals from 2 different ways to make a grid paper and then stamp over it.

Did someone say Snow?

Nope! No snow right now, but these snowflake punches sure put me in the wintery mood. Makes me want to sit by a fire and drink some hot cocoa (with marshmallows).

These cute snowflakes are a little bigger than the size of a quarter and were handpunched from Bazzill cardstock. Then I used some stickles (various colors) and a jewel rhinestone for their centers. Viola! You have a glittery, shimmery snowflake.

I have these up in my Etsy shop, The Art of Paper: 101. They come in a set of 15 and already have a pop dot adhesive on the back of them for easy addition to your craft of choice. Just peel and stick. They would be great on those winter themed projects such as: scrapbook pages, cards, tags, gift bags/boxes, bookmarks, mini albums, altered items, etc.

Patriotic Cupcakes

With Veteran's Day just around the corner I am really feeling the love for America and all of its citizens. My dad is a proud member of the Armed Forces and without people like him America wouldn't be where it is today. So I just want to say Thank You to all that have served and are serving in the Armed Forces and I salute you for all you do and have done to keep America free.

Now on to some yummy patriotic cupcakes that I have been working on. These little cupcake embellishments are perfect for any of your crafting needs. The possibilities are endless. Add them to your scrapbook pages, mini albums, cards, tags, gift bags, bulletin boards, invitations, signs, treat bags, etc. etc. You can find them at my The Art of Paper: 101 etsy shop.

I stamped the cupcake on to the Patriotic paper and then stamped the top of the cupcake on to the Bazzill cardstock. Then I cut out the cupcake top and adhered it to the cupcake on the Patriotic paper. Added the stickles and embellishments then attached with some pop dots to the circles.

The Boo Crew

Just a short post tonight showing you my recent creation just in time for all those Halloween pictures. It is a 2-page Halloween layout titled "The Boo Crew".

I made these cute pumpkins using my Sizzix and some bling cardstock. Then I raised them up using some pop dots to add some dimension to the layout.

The spider web was hand-drawn and then I used stickles to add some sparkle to it.

I covered the chipboard title with some of the pattern paper and inked it to add the distressed look. Also added a few bats and stickles for the finishing touches.

Check out the cute little glittery spider brads. Aren't they adorable??

I even used a Unity Stamp to stamp this spooky house image with Staz-On ink.

Happy Halloween!

Altering things from what they once were to something new is something I love to do. Since I am a Starbucks fanatic and I have a ton of these frappuccino jars laying around the house I decided to put them to good use. So I have been an altering fool this week.
